high highs - horses
there was a nice handful of acts i got the chance to discover at sxsw. high highs easily falls in the top three on that list. based out of new york city, the band is comprised of jack milas, oli chang, and zachary lipkins. their sound is simple—primarily driven by melodic guitar riffs that perfectly compliment the echoey vocal harmonies. it’s a tad reminiscent of fleet foxes with all the emotionally tender undertones.
they’ve got a couple of tracks up on their myspace and bandcamp but have yet to release an ep. keep an eye out for this bunch. i’ve got high hopes for the high highs.
