metropolis II by chris burden on display at LACMA fall ‘11

“it wasn’t about trying to make this a scale model of something. it was more to evoke the energy of a city.”

this installation is unbelievable. hope it opens before i leave for my epic europe trip. i did a project on chris burden’s performance art when i was in college. he’s known for shocking, controversial, and self-inflicting work he did in the 70s (see wikipedia). nice to see how his work has evolved over time.
