it’s nice to see JT off the movie screens and back in the recording studio (where he belongs). he’s obviously grown as an artist and i hate to say it, but perhaps the acting has helped with some of the stylistic choices in the whole 20/20 aesthetic. or in the context of this video, maybe that’s just the sheer talent of director, david fincher. JT’s image is definitely going through a makeover, and a successful one at that. he feels more mature, and particularly classy in this video with the juxtaposition of the vintage and modern. whatever the hell he’s doing, i like it. keep it coming, JT. my how you’ve grown since your time in *NSYNC.

all i have to say is that i’m not entirely sure fyf fest should be two days long. either way, glad i got to cross chromatics and glass candy off my “to watch live” list. both were incredible and definitely highlights of mine for the entire festival.

hot damn this song is so good. ryan hemsworth is another one of those super talented acts from canada and the guy is, without a doubt, hitting the ground running. his remixes for grimes and frank ocean have certainly made their rounds and his production work for the deniro farrar & shady blaze track is sick. last words is like icing on the cake and still leaves you hungry for more.

hrm. i wonder if he’s related to the hemsworth brothers. wouldn’t be surprised. he’s definitely a looker.

bless this week for having so many full album previews from the artists i love. holy other has been on my radar ever since i took a listen to his first ep, with u last year. i can’t tell you how many times i listened to that ep on a subway, in the air, or just generally in transit — for some reason, his style is perfect for travels, trust me.

held holds up pretty nicely against all the hype. as witch house seemingly dissipates into the ether, holy other is standing firmly. and with this release, he’s solidified himself as an artist to reckon with.
